Ted asked what the job descriptions were for those Service Groups. In 1956 I was Lieutenant on the "squad". You notice in the pictures that there are usually only two boys, with all the rest girls. The two boys had to lug those heavy metal cases in which the glass milk bottles set. The girls patrolled the tables to keep order and try to keep the kids in line. As Lt. I had the honor (?) of sitting at one end of a lunchroom table (that later folded into the gymnasium walls) and I collected two cents for each bottle of milk sold.
